Hot Chocolate + Good Book = Perfect Snow Day
Another snow day here in New York. But I think this time we, New Yorkers, are ready for it!
I'm working half day then intend on heading home to hibernate with hot chocolate, my favorite blanket + my latest book, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, where rambunctious Chef Anthony Bourdain chronicles his early days in the restaurant business. So far it's hilarious + awesome. (and I've learned: don't order fish on Mondays!)
What's your perfect snow day? Read any good books lately you recommend? xo

Thanks Jillian! Funny you recommend that one - I just bought 'I was told there'd be cake' by sloane crosley, which was her first book. it's next on my list. so i will probably end up reading both. i hear she's pretty funny. hope you get to enjoy your snow day! xo
I'm in Kansas City and we had a big storm on Monday. Luckily I work at a college and it was closed. I spent the time watching movies that I love (one of them was Jane Austen Book Club).
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I'm happy to discover yours! Love the concept of three sisters blogging together.
Hope you enjoy your snow day! Sounds pretty marvelous to me. I want one.
It just started snowing in Maine. I get to leave work at 12, so I at least have 1/2 a snow day! I'm thinking a batch of brownies is on the agenda, as well as a bit of painting. Enjoy the book; my boyfriend loved it :)
That sounds like a perfect snow day,sweetie...I love spending days like that on my cozy sofa and reading something fantastic:) Hugs and kisses, my dear
ps: I am hosting a sweet necklace GIVEAWAY today :) ... Please, join in!
I'm trying to read all of Dan Browns's books at the moment, slightly failing but nobody needs tp know that :L xoxo
Exactly what I intend on doing! I'm currently reading "The Classic Ten" by Nancy Macdonell Smith. It's about the LBD, the suit, the trench coat, etc. and their history into becoming a wardrobe staple. So far, it's fantastic! x
It snowed all night in Vancouver last night, but sadly I think the yucky rain is going to wash it away :(
I am reading Anna Karenina right now. It's a long read, but I'm loving it :)

I completely agree! It's my cure for rainy days too!
xx
Anthony Bourdain is my absolute favorite! Love watching his show...so I definitely need to check out his book! Hope you have a good day and stay warm! xo
sounds like a perfect plan. I heard about the snow storm from my friend and he had the option to work from home, I can't imagine going out to face 12 inches of snow! I'm currently reading book #8 of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanonich.
Ps. I will see if I can find that brand of yogurt here (maybe at a health shop?) because I didn't see them at Target.
these are great recs!
Elisa, I think they might sell Fage at a Target with groceries. Otherwise, you can try a health store which will most likely carry it! But the Greek brand is good too!
xo,
Karina
I'm loving my snow days here in NC =)
omg and I LOVE Anthony Bourdain! I should read his book! =)
