Happy Holidays

We're signing off til 2012. Like last year, the sisters and I will stay in town for Christmas and spend it with our parents in Queens. Then next week, Alex and I are thrilled (beyond words) to be heading to our favorite place, Miami. Here are some photos of last year's Miami Escapade. :)

What are you all up to? Any special plans for New Years? If we muster the courage, we might go to a club on South Beach. Or stay home eating good luck grapes and watching the countdown on TV.

Hope you all have a fantastic holiday! And as always, THANK YOU for all of your wonderful comments, and for allowing us to share stuff with you. See you next year! xoxo

Oh yeah! And a few fun links for your vacay...

Have you been on the recipe-website, punchfork yet? Go. There. Now.

A lovely excerpt from Miranda July's new book.

Why doesn't my holiday wrapping ever look as gorg as this?

French onion soup? - yes, please!

Love. Stylish gals in black & white.

Have a dreamy weekend!

Aren't these the prettiest Easter eggs? This weekend I am hosting a lunch for our Mom's birthday/Easter celebration. Our whole family is coming to our tiny studio in Union Square, but if it's nice enough we're going to head up to the roof deck. :) What are you up to?

Hope you all have a lovely, relaxing weekend! And to our fabulous, wonderful, stylish Mom who cooks really well... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you!!!

And now fun links...

Check out Cinema Verite, the original reality show family, which airs tomorrow!

Family Photos as Art

I love family photos blown up on canvas or wallpaper. What great large-scale photo ideas.

Hope you are all enjoying your time off. :)

Happy Birthday, Papa Cifuentes!

Happy Birthday to our wonderful Dad! I have to say, the three of us are incredibly lucky to have someone so cool and hip as our father. He has always been funny, thoughtful and an eternal optimist. He's taught us to always look on the bright side of things, give people the benefit of the doubt, give back to the community and work hard to achieve our goals. We are thankful for everything you do, Dad, and we hope you have a wonderful birthday!

We're celebrating with dinner tonight and I am making this for dessert.

Have a lovely weekend! ♥

Alexandra Grecco Fall 2010 (Directed by Karina!)

Loving this playful new video for Alexandra Grecco's Fall 2010 collection! The clothes are feminine + sweet with a touch of retro sexiness. And the video is simply adorable -- from the inspiring cat-eye liner to the catchy song by The Generationals, it makes you glad to be a woman! Enjoy! (Bonus: The video was directed by Karina, and produced by Lisa Michelle, my sisters + fellow DOPT contributors! Congrats, seesters!) ♥ ♥ ♥

Have a Dreamy Weekend!

Happy Friday, kiddies. I am super excited it's the weekend already. One of our fave cousins, Helena, is in town this week from Guatemala and we are really looking forward to showing her and her family around Brooklyn. We were planning to check out Park Slope and Prospect Park today, but given yesterday's tornadoes, not sure if that's still a good idea. I guess we can always go to Eataly instead!

Anyway, a little bit about our cousin: she is awesome and she always brings us amazing Guatemalan gifts. On this visit, she's brought us delicious coffee, table linens, and messenger bags. They are all so beautiful and I wish I had a better camera to show you everything, but instead I have just created a wish list of other Guatemalan goodies. It is seriously making me want to plan a trip down there soon!

Have a lovely weekend! ♥

Happy Birthday, Karina!

Me with my new doll, Karina...
Was she not the cutest thing ever?
And those jammies?.... (And check out Lisa's hair below. Gotta love the 80's!)
And then there was three... The year was 1985. The third sister was born. Karina, the "baby". Now we were a pack. Like Care Bears we were going to unite forces, and radiate light from our bellies to make the world a better place. Ok, not really. There was going to be hair pulling, biting, my Mom having to pull over the car because someone was in a headlock... oh, the joys of sisterhood.

Karina, we are so glad you were born, and became the third sister. You complete us. We love you SO very much! Candy + alien toes! Happy Birthday! xoxo! Love, your two big sisters

Mama + Papa Cifuentes get married...

My parents. 1975. Amazing. ♥

Have a dreamy weekend: Happy Birthday, Michelle!

This Sunday, August 1st is my sister Lisa Michelle's birthday!

The year was 1982. She was born the perfect cherubic child, all rosy cheeks + black curls (see photo above; she's the teeny tinier one). I'll admit, I was jealous when she first rolled into town, stealing all the attention with those big, brown Precious Moments eyes. But she quickly won me over as I realized I finally had a real playmate, and could lose my bossy imaginary friend.

Michelle, I am SO lucky to have you as my sister! You are my best friend + I love you. Happy Birthday! xoxo!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Have a dreamy weekend: Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, to all the great Dad's out there! The photo above was taken during my wedding weekend in Miami (I think my Dad's hat gives it away -- Awesome.) And those two beautiful ladies are my sisters, Lisa Michelle (middle), and Karina (right), of hip + fabulous ::PLATFORM::. My sisters + I have an AMAZING, SUPER Dad.

Having been the only man in a house with four women (and a little Maltese named "Tiger" - um, yeah) must have been no easy feat for my Dad, at times, yet he always managed to stay cool + go (mostly) with the flow. And with my sisters and I, he always knew when to dole out advice (which he's still great at), and when to hold back, and let us learn to swim on our own. Dad, we are so lucky to have you! Thank you for being real + our Superman! xoxo!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
