Perfect fall outfits

Arapahoe
Brunswick
The Cambridge
The Northampton

I am all about comfy uniforms for fall and this new line called Tradlands has my name written all over it. The pieces look well made and they have such a timeless look to them, don't you think? Turns out a few of the shirts were actually made in collaboration with one of my favorite bloggers, Lizzie Garrett Mettler, who is the creator of Tomboy Style. Makes so much sense! I really appreciate this aesthetic and can't wait for the majority of their collection to come back in stock. I am wishlisting nearly every item.

In addition to making beautiful clothes, Tradlands is a company you can feel good about supporting. They work with a well-established sewing company in downtown San Francisco where every shirt is cut, sewn, and thoroughly inspected before it goes out the door to you.  Supporting American made products is important to me, so I look forward to seeing what else this company creates.

Fall and Winter Dresses from Mary Meyer

Wednesday Dress
MM Sweater Dress
Sweater Biggie
Kara Dress

New York is getting chillier everyday and you know what that means? Time for new clothes! How perfect are these fall dresses from Mary Meyer? If you know me at all, you know my signature look is red lips and lots of black clothing. So when I saw this new collection, I was just so happy I could burst. Dresses + tights + winter = my favorite thing.

Also, heads up! They are having a pretty great sale right now.

What do you guys think? Would you wear these dresses?

Covet: Tangerine Coat

Woah, what a find! How cute is this tangerine coat? And can you believe it's only $84? I know. I usually wear black coats, but the sleek cut makes me want to try this funky color!

Loafers to Love.

I've seen some ladies on the street sporting loafers which look so chic. And so they have inspired me to get on with the comfy yet stylish trend (as seen on Kate Moss.) Here's a roundup of a few I covet...after the jump!

Dreamy Dame: Giovanna Badilla of The Wild

The Wild
When Giovanna Badilla and I first met, we became instant friends. We were both working in commercial production and bonded over the absurd requests made by higher ups, including a specific request made by a director that he only be served fresh homemade tuna sandwiches every day with onions diced, not sliced. True story!

But now, Gio herself is in the position of making absurd requests, but she doesn't. Instead, Gio is incredibly thoughtful and poised. And although soft spoken, don't be fooled. She's relentlessly devoted to creating gorgeous content for the masses and will work hard to make sure that continuously happens.

She is the Editor-In-Chief of The Wild, a magazine founded on the premise that fashion, design, and style are not mutually exclusive from the social and cultural issues that impact the world (wowza!) She's had success and is still building the brand and her magazine can be found internationally at cool shops like Opening Ceremony and Collette in Paris. Not to mention, she's an International girl who was born in Chile but lived in Sweden most of her life, and is now married to an accomplished fashion director from Paris. Oh, and she speaks four languages.

I sat down with Gio in her cute apartment in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, alongside her darling daughter, Nikita (pictured) and got the lowdown on what it takes to be one of the coolest chicks I know.

Hat ♥

I've always declared myself a non-hat person. Unfortunately, the circumference of my head rarely allows me the good fortune of wearing cute hats. But recently, I discovered that a few good retailers cater to the larger head type and have perfect sizes for all. I just bought a great fit at Club Monoco, but recently found UK brand Christys' Hats, which I'm seriously considering buying.

How about you? Are you a hat person?

Zara Film by Todd Selby

I just stumbled upon this great film for Zara shot by Todd Selby, of The Selby, featuring an interview with gallery owner, Lucy Chadwick. In it, Lucy wears all Zara clothing and looks absolutely gorgeous. She's eclectic and sophisticated and her apartment with hairstylist boyfriend Duffy is incredible (eyeing that teapot cameo at :55). I hope they continue this fashion inspiring series!

Party Dress (New Years Maybe?)

Even though we have no official New Years plans as of yet, I'm already on the hunt for a fun NYE party dress. Isn't this one adorable?

Toasty Tights

Hello, November 1st! Now that the toasty weather is officially here, I'm ready to bring the tights out from my winter storage. (I have a tiny NY closet so under-the-bed storage is my best friend. :)

And maybe invest in some fun, new ones. What do you think of these? I especially love the Cabled socks. Cozy with a bit of flirty. ;)

Are you wearing tights yet? Do you stick to the basic black or would you wear something like these?

P.S. Fun Fall tights slideshow.

Chilly Beach Style

So this might be the wrong day to post this (still in the 90's in NY!), but I couldn't resist this outfit. Love the cuffed jeans and scarf. I'll keep this inspiration in my back pocket for a chilly camping trip upstate. ;)

Dreamy Dame: Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek for T Magazine from Cass Bird on Vimeo.

Who doesn't have a girl crush on Salma Hayek? She's smart, talented + extremely beautiful. I especially love this video that Cass Bird did a few months ago for T Magazine. Great article too. ♥

P.S. Salma is also incredibly real. Did you ever see this funny video of her?

Pastel Pink

This girl makes me want to buy some pastel pink pants. And I would never have thought to pair with booties!

Teeek Tok

Sweet peeps, do you wear a watch? I've had one on my wish list for a while so with my 32nd birthday approaching (Mon Dieu!), I think I am going to start hinting to Alex. :) What do you think of these beauties? And can anyone recommend a shop in NYC that carries vintage watches? I'd love to try it on beforehand. xo

Colored Jeans: Yay or Nay?

In today's Yay or Nay survey, I wanted to ask you, peeps... colored jeans: yay or nay? I usually stick to the basic dark denim because it works the best for my body type (leetle Guatemalan legs, big booty from God knows where :), but this past weekend I almost ventured and bought - gasp! Purple jeans! But at the last minute I wimped out, and put them back on the rack. But this sexy new vid (above), for Ksubi Kolors, is really making the case for colored jeans. What do you guys think? Would love to know! See a fun colored jeans slideshow here. xo

Urban Sombrero

Do you wear hats, sweet peeps? Last night, while shopping for my Mother-in-law's bday gift, I tried on a fedora, that was next to the cash register. I think they're cute (even if they are "so last season"), but they don't really work for my heart-shaped face. But this one, above, is pretty stylish. What do you guys think about hats? Will you be sporting one this summer?

P.S. See more hats here.
