How long have you been married?
Forrest and I have been married for almost 3 years. It seems like just yesterday we invited our nine guests to a small chapel for our wedding but at the same time, it feels like I have known him forever!
How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend while living in Birmingham, AL. It happened to be the same night that Forrest was in celebration mode for passing the bar exam. With a few adult beverages under his belt, he mustered up the courage to ask for my phone number and we've been together ever since....how romantic, haha!

What is your secret to a happy marriage?
Laughter - lots of it and in large doses!!! Obviously not every day is full of rainbows and unicorns but we try to find the humor in every situation and end each night with a full-on belly laugh.

What advice would you give a newlywed couple?
Brooke's advice: A happy and healthy marriage is all about compromising, understanding each other, and communicating. Also trust, honesty, and respect make the list.
Forrest's advice: Just remember...happy wife equals a happy life. :)
Thank you, Brooke + Forrest, for your sweet story and advice!

I agree with Brooke that laughter is a key element to a happy marriage. I am lucky to be married to a very funny guy who keeps me laughing daily... and, we have been laughing together for 32 years!
Super picture and what a cute dog.
Greetings,
Filip
"Happy wife equals a happy life" haha, so true. I definitely agree with laughter and lot's of it. I think it's so important to be able to laugh with your partner and to not take life too seriously even though it can be pretty tough some times.
