Lana Del Rey MV // Born To Die

Have you guys heard of Lana Del Rey? She's a little infamous for her performance on SNL (which I really don't think was that bad), but her song "Born to Die" off of her new album with the same name is pretty addicting. If anything, this video is nothing short of amazing.

You decide! Would love to hear your feedback.

Saturday Song Obsession:

Currently obsessed and playing on non-stop repeat. Have you already heard it? The video is pretty rad. And also, Kate from For Me, For You has a very sweet cover.

Hope you're all enjoying the beautiful January weather this weekend!

Monday Night Dance Night

This song makes us wish it was Friday night, not Monday night. How can you not move to this sweet tune? I, for one, am so ready for the weekend!

Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is one of my all time fave performers. That voice, that hair and those moves! Have you seen them live before? I highly recommend you do if you haven't already. Life changing. Ok, maybe not but they sure make for a FUN night, worthy of capital letters.

Check out the new Santigold song featuring today's Dreamy Dame here. It's the best way to jolt start your Wednesday morning.

I'm officially back to work mode, which also means I'm taking my hiney back to the gym! Nothing gets me moving like good tunes. I just downloaded the entire album by Barcelona band, El Guincho, and I love it. It's tropical and upbeat, the perfect kickstarter soundtrack to a new year. :)

And here's a cool video for their single, Bombay. (NSFW)

At the airport the other day, I picked up Patti Smith's Just Kids. My intention was to read it on the flight, but after a crazy weekend with little sleep, I didn't get much done. So now I am about to start it and for a little inspiration, wanted to post about how cool this lady is. She just oozes confidence and style with a carefree spirit. Her beauty is completely unconventional and I think that's one of the many things that make her so attractive.

Have any of you read Just Kids yet? Would love to hear what you think, or tell me what your fave song is. I am mostly familiar with her mainstream stuff and would love suggestions on other gems.

Happy Friday!

How fun are these graphic musical posters by Mico? He started this project called Music Philosophy to combine his love of music and graphic design. It's interesting because sometimes I forget how thoughtful lyrics are, especially when I'm just dancing around to the song, so this is a nice reminder of the music's meaning. Thanks to our friend, Kati for sending us the site!

And now a few fun links from around the web:

Have a fun-filled weekend everyone!

Today I woke up with this song in my head. It's Marathon by the band Tennis, which is made up of husband/wife duo, Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore. Apparently, they wrote this while sailing around the east coast for eight months. Can't you just hear their inspiration? It makes me want to plan a similar adventure. And I love that they're a married couple! Talk about cute.

Dance Love

With the official arrival of bikini-season yesterday, I've been needing a little workout motivation. Especially since I love to indulge in margaritas + other summery treats. This Shakira video definitely does the trick. To get in She Wolf-shape, Shakira trained with celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson, and it paid off. Check out her abs! (Putting the cookie down.) And the album is great for working out too. Unleash your inner She Wolf: Shakira
