Have a dreamy weekend!

It's Friday! Tonight Alex and I are going to a screening of Girl Walk All Day, a well-reviewed cool feature-length music video. Lisa went last week and said that people started dancing in the aisles! You can watch the film on their website or request a screening in your city. :) I go nuts for dance films so I'm really looking forward to this. And the best part is that its BYOB so we're bring a bottle of Malbec. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Stay toasty! In the meantime, here are some fun links for your Friday... xo!

This surfing video is so thrilling and scary!

Having friends over? I highly suggest making this perfect winter lasagna.

Monday Night Dance Night

This song makes us wish it was Friday night, not Monday night. How can you not move to this sweet tune? I, for one, am so ready for the weekend!

Zumba

OK, so don't judge. But yesterday I took a Zumba class. Have any of you tried it? What did you think?

For those who've never heard of it, Zumba is a Latin-inspired workout/"dance movement" where you do a cardio workout to Latin music + international beats. (Think salsa dancing in double-time.)

It was dare I say... fun. I've always loved to dance, but I have to admit the first few minutes were a little intimidating because everyone in the class knew the steps really well (can we say, Bridget Jones moment?). But 20 minutes into it, thanks to a lot of repetition, I finally got the hang of it.

If you guys are feeling experimental, and wanna mix up your workout routine, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It's pretty popular and can be found at most gyms or you can find a class here. Almost Friday! xo

Dreamy Dancers

Martha Graham by Barbara Morgan

Twyla Tharp by Richard Avedon.

Alvin Ailey and Judith Jamison (photo unknown)

This morning I woke up thinking about ballerinas. I'm not entirely sure why, but I had the sudden urge to look up Martha Graham today, her name has been floating around my subconscious mind for reasons I have yet to determine. There is just something so incredibly inspiring about dancers; their grace, elegance and discipline are so hard to achieve and yet they tend to make it look effortless. So I did some digging and thought I would share these lovely images with you.

You can buy tickets to the NYC Ballet here and to Alvin Ailey here.
